In the morning, we take longtail motorboat up to Muang Ngoi. Muang Ngoi is a riverside village with no permanent electricity up until 2013. The town remains a low-key and still little-known destination. Only basic infrastructures are built, any other amenities such as banks, café shops, luxury hotels are not yet to come. Due to the richness of natural beauty, the town is famous for trekking, boating, caving, camping, and kayaking. Visit surrounding villages, Ban Na and Tham Kang cave for approximately 30mns walk from one to another. The cave used to be a bomb shelter during the Vietnam War era. Hunting and fishing are their main activities for a living apart from growing their own crops. Return by boat back to Nong Kiau where we catch our minivan for the trip back to Luang Prabang afternoon.
