Bolaven Plateau to Tha Teang, Champassak
Meet at your hotel in Pakse then drive out to Bolaven Plateau on route 16E heading to Paksong. Bolaven known as an elevated region in Southern Laos – an expanse of highland former from ancient volcano. Pay a visit to the Local coffee and tea plantation – you will see both Arabica and Robusta and tea grown in village plots through the region. Tad Fan is the highest waterfall in the south, towlines of water falling down from the top to the bottom from about 130 meters. Tad Yuang waterfalls next Tad Fan – just 6 km. Paksong Market is the centre in trading for people around the Bolaven. After this we drive to Tha Teang, where we explore minority villages like Alak, Mge and Ka Tu. At stop at the coffins Village – Ban Kokphoung – these people have their own tradition: they prepare and sell coffins; minority here prepare and design their own coffin. These villagers live together in big houses – for about 65 people to live together. On the way out to Tad lor, we stop by at Ban Huy Houn – a village known for its best hand silk and cotton textiles – If time permit stop by at Mr Vieng’s house specialize in coffee grown; harvesting, roasting and testing techniques that you may not see from where else. Return to Pakse in the late afternoon.
